I think I made my comments already. I could also give a comment on most reviews and why they pass nearly any power supply, but then I'd be seen as pretentious. The Ultra X-2 will give you a bit more power with a better cabling scheme no over-drawing on the grounds for instance for a bit less money. The Ultra can hit it's rated power BTW. Like I said; in the core of the Hiper is a good unit. But even if you look beyond the fake wattage claim, the way the cables are wired up makes me think twice.

G'mornin all, first and foremost I wanted to say that, I did not do this posting to promote this PSU, I did to try and show what it really looks like, how the connections are and how they set it up to be used. And let the masses make up their own minds, and yes I did neglect put in my original post, as to what you said "jonnyGURU" about the way they put it together as to the wiring.

And yes I was a little put back as to the way the PCI-E wire was when I saw it, I was surprised to see it as it is, but I was at the point when you think, n for a penny in for a pound. And I know I could have sent it back and even for a restocking fee maybe? But I figured, okay lets go with it see where it goes, and I must say that once I got everything hooked up and running, I again was surprised at how well my system was running. And I was expecting it to be unstable and lacking in the proper power, and mainly I was concerned that my XTX VC was not going to get the power that it requires, but it did and so far so good.

The lethality of electricity as we all know is the current not the voltage, and v appliances require more current im most cases. I wish I knew exactly why our country chose to down the voltage too. You've been shocked by a spark plug wire before, I'm sure. How many volts is that? But there's hardly any current. I want V dammit!! Spectre said:. Actually that is how I tell I am getting spark to each cylinder.

LOL right on the tongue eh? Thatll wake you up in the mornin'. Joined Apr 14, Messages Just want to thank you for the informed discussion of this psu. I'm looking for a new psu to replace my 2 year old Antec TP All that bling of the Hiper type R made me balk.

It's attractive but the bling spooked me. I want gr8t solid guts in my next psu. It's getting sketchy I've had an excellent run with Antecs but I like to replace 'em after a couple years anyway. Something a bit quieter and ready for PCi-E when I upgrade are my goals for the new psu. The Liberty looks and gets reviewed like it's decent. We'll see I've already got an RMA and case with Antec since it's within warranty.

I'll just keep the replacement as an extra. I hope you have better luck on your next choice of PSU, my last PSU was an Antec Neo , when I built my system I bought it at the time expecting it to be able to power up my VC, which it did not even though it was made to be as such. The one thing I did not take into account and my mistake that I have to live with, was newer, better, fast and more power hungry Video Cards, I should known better.

But in the other hand my Antec Neo served me well for the time I have used it and other than not being enough to supply my new VC, my system was always very stable. Other than when I went a little over the top with my OC which was easily corrected. I read a lot of reviews on other PSU's and not just from the professionals but also from people that have used and or still own them. And how different it is in the way it is made and the type of modular design, as well as it being very new to the USA.

After long thoughts as to what to do, I took a chance, life is full of taking chances and when I did receive it and unpacked it, I really saw how it was designed, and I was just a bit skeptical. But I figured, I either send it back and wait for a refund, or go with it!

Well as it is, I ran with it so to speak, and knock on wood it is still running very well and has not been shut off yet, well only when I again went just a little over with the OC trying to get just the right settings and had to reset the Cmos And I guess in a way I might just be one of a few guinea pigs LOL, but I must say that I am very surprised at how well it is working, and I can honestly say that the mm fan on the XP is MUCH louder that the PSU fan, and as the Pros have said that the back 80mm fan runs for about five minutes after the PC is shut down to help with cooling the PSU.

And like I said knock on wood, the system has been very stable. The only other thing I can say is that maybe, just maybe this European style PSU as it is called has something, maybe it does not? I guess only time will tell, oh and the Bling is not the reason why I bought this PSU I say this for anyone that be wondering other than the reviews, the style of connection feels very solid.

B4 I find the obvious answer myself. As posted many times before, I cant complain at all about anything on my Hiper W Modular PSU, it has been in my system for around 18 months now and I have no trouble what so ever. Just a shame it didnt have quieter fans in . I heard good things about the modular connections on the hyper Power supplies.

JPG theres a view of it my case job isn't totally finished yet It comes in a nice box that u can keep little components, screws etc in. I am very happy with mine. Ive found the Hiper Type-R to be a real winner.

Joined Sep 30, Messages 1, Its running my pc well. Three of us have it without problems :. I have one, 7 months old, powers all the stuff in my rig no probs I have to say it is quiet I had one in my main rig for a long time from release date in the US , then I put together a new system for my son and he really wanted it because it matched his color scheme, so now he's running it in his system Used to have one, died after about a week, took it back and got a refund. I bought one in April I think it was, blew up earlier this year.

Annoying to say the least and had so many problems RMAing it to novatech, cost a bomb to post as well.
